Slow-Playing Ace-King is a "Trap-Slash-Respect"

21 de março de 2010

After Dwyte Pilgrim pulled in a small pot with A-K in a showdown against William Reynolds (winning with ace high), Pilgrim said, "That’s respect." Based on the pot size and the table talk, it appears that Pilgrim slow-played the hand.

Reynolds disagreed, saying it felt more like a trap, especially if Pilgrim had flopped a pair or something better.

Dan Shak clarified the situation, saying, "It’s a trap-slash-respect. It’s a trap if an ace flops, and it’s respect if it doesn’t."
